  1. In my opinion, I agree with the article, I compared ' to make covers' with ' to make drawings', bc it's what I do, and she has all reason, take a song or a drawing and don't make it your own is like to try to do the same someone has already done. Make it your own! Make it "personal".
From all her favorites, Ted Leo's one isn't good (in my opinion), but the billy idol's one(white wedding) or the Moody blues' one are nice.
A I'll survive cover is really difficult bc Gloria Gaynor voice is what bring the song special, but Cake's song isn't horrible.
And...I think my favorite cover songs are made by a youtuber (pellekofficial), I can't choose a favorite, he makes covers of all my beloved bands and anime openings.
    There is an example: http://youtu.be/YLUZfcgD2Vc

  2. I admire anyone who can make music with the voice, either original sound or a cover, because I think that is so much complicated to achieve a good copy of something as unique as the music. Nevertheless I prefer always original songs, It's where you found the real magic.
Honestly, I don't share her musical taste, except I'll survive cover, Cake do it very nice.
I choose as my favorite cover song an interpretation of "Summer" (Vivaldi), by the violinist Ara Malikian. Hope you like: https://youtu.be/vBfHVdSehjg

  3. Well, in my opinion Im not desagree with make covers, maybe the song hears better then in the original version, with other voice. But Im the person who pref the original version. In first, my opinion about Cake is... Im not sure if he makes the voice or is a some playback, maybe I saw this couse the quality of the video is something bad, so i let it for you. The cover of "night in white satin" is horrible, I fell in love with the chill style of this song of Moody Blues. The song of rammstein i couldent hear, so, the only "good" cover i heard in the article was “White Wedding” its ok, and i said ok cose is not really my style so, i pref not judge.
My favorite cover among many is "Hello" Adele https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmnDEUD9NyI

there is so much styles of music and i pref really dont jodge covers, im not an any expert, and like in spanish we say "Para gustos los colores"

  6. I agree with this article. If you want that something to be yours, you must give your personal touch. Although if someone loves something as it is (a painting, a song, a picture...) and that person wants but made by him, you can always say the name of the creator. Personally, i prefer the original songs that cover although there are some other i like. In fact, i don't usually hear cover songs, but i hear symphonies covers. Of the songs on the article i like ''white wedding''. One cover that i love is ''Aria'' originally of Bach, interpreted by Ara Malikian https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQ0fb0mu4p4

  7. First of all, I agree with my partners up to a point. It's true that if you want to be unique, you should do something that nobody has done before. However, I think that it's not necessary to change song's style or something similar to be special, only how you feel when you're listening to. For me, the most important point is the lyrics, because I don't care the musical genre if and when the lyrics express how I feel or think. I don't usually listen to covers, but my favourite song is the spanish version of Heart Attack: https://youtu.be/ZzywqJrPBSs

  8. Personally, i like listening cover songs with "own style".
I think that there are cover songs better than own original songs. I love cover songs of "karmin", Sings songs with the personal touch.
My favourite cover song is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CYbqDykTu8

Although, both songs I like In my opinion the cover song has more musicality and the female voice gives more life to the cover song :)

  9. In my opinión, a cover can do that an horrible song souds really nice. In the other hand is difficult to do an amazing song better than the original. But there is somthing important that we shoud't forget. Music must thrill.

This is a Paramore's song (Ain't it fun) played by Against the current. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ek5ruVCVZy8
    I hope you enjoy it.

  10. In my opinion i'm agree about covers songs because is another way to discover the talent of persons that aren't famous, and they can express their emotions. I don't listen to much covers but i like it and my favourite of them is that: https://youtu.be/tp8_6wTO46A
I love this song because i thought that the first voice was from a girl! until i discovered she was a boy and for this reason i like it more and he has a sweet voice. I hope you enjoy it.

  11. I like covers, covers that are just like the originals and covers that really change the song (in a good way, I mean).

So, I’m agree and desagree with the article, I think every single cover is diferent than the original, ‘cause the person that is singing or playing is another one. It can sound equal, but is diferent.

Anyway, is an interesting article that include very nice covers like Johnny Cash’s cover of Nine Inch Nails’ “Hurt” (is so precious, I desagree with the autor, I’ll definitely put it in a list of covers if I do one), and interesting arguments.

Finally, one of my favourite covers ( for now) is a Ghost B.C. cover; “Here comes the sun” , a song of The Beatles.

  13. I agree with the author; if you are gonna make a cover, you really have to feel the song, the lyrics, the symphony, evereything about the song and the artist, the singer.
I've been singing since I started sepeaking, and when I finally started my singing lessons, the first thing I learnt whas that you have to feel that you live inside that song, and when you covered a song you have to do this more than ever, or it wont be a good cover.
I love covers, they're usually really imaginative and creative, and you can meet very good singers listenin covers. I am always making covers, I love to cover Amy Winehouse's songs and I also like to sing The pretty reckless's songs. By the way, I have like 2 "favorites" covers, the first is a Taylor Swift's cover by Jessi J (I truthly love Jessie), about the song I knew you were trouble:
    https://youtu.be/TklXlHFpnlM

The second one is a cover of 21 pilots by Alex Aiono. I think that this guy has a really amazing and beautiful Voice, and he also play the guitar, the ukelele, and many other things. I was gonna put another cover / mix by Alex but he has delete the vídeo😭😭

    Hope you like it!

  14. In my opinion I don't really mind if the song is a cover or a remake because I don't tend to pay much attention to the author unless i've listened to the original author before. Sometimes I really like a song but when I listen to the same song from someone who did a version of it I can like it even more, which happens most of the time. Also, if I found a cover of one of my favourite songs I usually pay more attention to it just because if it's really good I'll have two versions of that song and enjoy it more.
However, there are certain remakes that blow my mind because of how different they make the song sound, for example, this cover of Adele's when we were young song sang by this boy from portugal in The Voice (I really really love this program, specially the blind auditions) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeYMmrLA9aQ .
But I can honestly say without doubt that the bests covers i've ever heard are from this guy called SoMo, he has such an unique voice that makes me have chills everythime I heard something from him, like this cover https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZWDN6xFX2c and I hope you like it as much as I do!

  15. In my opinion make an original song and someone make you a version of it I feel bad because it shows that the artist who makes the version has business purpose and No show much originality on your part. Besides the original music it is usually better than the other and finally one of the songs
originals like me is ADELE - HELLO (COVER BY LEROY
    SANCHEZ)

  17. In my opinion, I agree with the article, I think we do a cover of a song and make it itself has much more value than make it as the original. So instead of copying and settle for what you have done someone else can show how you would like it to sound that song.
I have no favorite cover in particular but I choose includ grace as the have very good memories with my sister: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2r7gwpm0UG4

  18. From my point of view, do a cover is a way to show your talent giving a tribute to the person who composed the song, and it really I often hear cover one of the people that I like is Dani Jaenes and its cover which I like most is this:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhr2mhbRYNE
This song is called I told you.

  20. In my opinion that a famous singer remove a new theme music and this exit successful, i think it is great, that is, many people after listening to them over and over again decide to interpret that same song for his idol becausehe really likes. By which are either the same song ora different version is. For my is as a displays of affection to that artistto which admire. Even, there are peoplethat it made with the simple made of remember to their idols and that no one will forget from that artist. For example Elvis Presley, The Beatles , Michael Jackson...
But however there are othen that take advantage of this, even to take lesser-known songs and endorses it, the worst thing that there are people who believe it.

My prefer covers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tW5VdnoFzn4 ( Leah version of chieftains)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUOKq8Q6qmM ( Celine Dion version of Elvis Presley)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bipntlmHtOE ( Sara Paxton version of Elton Jhon)

  21. Well, personally, I believe that doing covers songs is a nice idea because maybe, that make people really like them. For example, if I don't like a pop song, a rock group can do a great cover of it that I love, and that's fantastic. So I agree with this guy, there are bands that make spectacular things with famous songs, but the ones who make the covers must understand that they haven't write that song and maybe it's better to make it different and also say what is the original song and who is the original singer.
One of my favorite covers is this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LY1G03vjesw

  22. I agree with the article. Perhaps, I think that the cover songs are a creative way to express the feelings of each one, and that's good. I also think they are a way to show the differents types of styles that a song can be agree with the article. I don't have a sure favourite cover song, but one of them is 'Elastic Heart' by Madilyn Bailey, and another of my faves is 'Titanium': https://youtu.be/HSyyJa_PY3U , but I don't know from who it is. This one it's a cover that I heard seeing a YouTube vídeo, exactly a Lyrical Dance vídeo of Maddie Ziegler.

  26. In my opinion, cover songs are a great idea and an important contribution to the music. They give you the opportunity of listening to different versions of the same song, made by different artists with different voices and styles, letting you even love songs that you wouldn't like in their original version.
Of course, I agree with the article. For me, a good cover must be different from the original song in more things than just the singer's voice. Covers let you take something you really like and make it totally yours, and they give you an infinity of possible choices!
One of my favourites is this one: where is my mind played by Maxence Cyrin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NZdggNUvq0 i loved the original song by the pixies, but this one relaxes me! hope you enjoy it! (I'm dafne btw i think my real name doesn't appear on here)
