1B LISTENING AND VOCABULARY FRIDAY 17th.

Hi 1B Juniors!

How are you today? How about a song to end the week? I chose this easy nice and romantic song for you and some additional material to work the vocabulary. I hope you enjoy it and learn a lot of new words and phrases. Ready? Play!




STEP 1.
Listen to this song by Ed Sheeran. Take your time in paying attention to the lyrics , do not read the lyrics the first time , just give your "ears" the opportunity to understand what you're listening to.

STEP 2.
Listen again. Download the exercise with the lyrics of the song , and complete the fill in the blanks exercise.
Check the meaning of the words in the box that are unknown for you on an online dictionary.

STEP 3
WATCH THIS VIDEO BY "Eat, Sleep, Dream" on Ed Sheeran's song and answer the following questions. Post a comment on the blog with your answers by today.



QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED ON THE BLOG

1. What vocabulary is he explaining, make a list and search the meaning in Spanish? 
2. What phrasal verb with two meanings is he explaining? Can you use it in two different sentences with the two meanings he is explaining.
3. Use the following  words and expressions 
"against all odds"and "say something underneath your breath" on a sentence.
4. Use "gaze" (n), barefoot (adj) and "a mess" (n), in three different sentences that are true for you.

PRONUNCIATION ACTIVITY.
Try to sing the song at home, pay attention to pronunciation and stress . You can also learn some lines and sing them aloud.

2B SENIORS - PHRASAL VERB AND TOPIC VOCAB

Hello everybody!

Welcome back! Did you have the chance to relax during the Holidays? We are starting the week with a little phrasal verb  (12 phrasal verbs) learning and practice! The vocabulary topic of the week is " JOBS" and "SUMMER JOB" Here is what you have to do:



WEDNESDAY  April 15th.
1. Watch the video by BBC Learning and write down the phrasal verbs on your notebook. Check the meaning on a dictionary ( Macmillan's for example). Notice that the same phrasal verb can be used in a different context with a  different meaning.
2. Do all exercises ONLINE . There is a set of  four self-correcting exercises types.


3. Now watch the video "HOW TO USE PHRASAL VERBS" by "Eat, Sleep, Dream" and pay attention to the grammar use of phrasal verbs in general

THURSDAY April 16th.
1.Review what you learned yesterday , use the notes from your notebook, create flashcards...as you like. 
2. Complete exercises  2 , 3 and 4 on phrasal verbs from  the worksheet ( this is not online, just download the worksheet and complete the exercises with your computer or using a pen, it's up to you) Set the timer (or stopwatch for 30 minutes). Do not use your notes now, no picking, just try how much you can remember.

1B GRAMMAR FUTURE CONTINUOUS AND FUTURE PERFECT

How about a little grammar today? Today's grammar topic is FUTURE PERFECT AND FUTURE CONTINUOUS. Now I have organised this post in two sections; EXPLANATION AND PRACTICE. Follow the instructions.

EXPLANATION:

Remember we already reviewed the "basic" future structures ( WILL+ INF, GOING TO+ INF, PRESENT CONTINUOUS and even PRESENT SIMPLE ). See the post Monday 30th

But there are other tenses to express the future one of them is called FUTURE PERFECT and the other one FUTURE CONTINUOUS.

SEE THE VIDEO EXPLANATION FOR THE FUTURE CONTINUOUS ( also known as PROGRESSIVE). To express actions that you think that will be in progress in a particular time of the future.


WILL + BE ( infinitive)-ING

GRAMMAR 1A. FUTURE PERFECT AND FUTURE CONTINUOUS
