2B USE OF ENGLISH- PEvAU TEST WITH ANSWERS

Hi 2B seniors!

Wishing for the week to end? Well , lucky you, because it's Friday! 🥳
Let's concentrate on the second part of the PEvAU exam, first. According to the new format you will have to choose 6 questions out of 12. So, read the questions , focus on the choice that you have and choose the 6 best questions for you with the least possibility of mistakes. Remember correctors will only correct 6 of them , so in case you answer over that number , they will only take into account the six first answers.
This is what you are going to find in your PEvAU test:
So , it is time to practice with this model. In about 30 minutes you'll have to decide which 6 questions will make you succeed. This is what you have to do:

TODAY'S ASSIGNMENT
  • Set your timer or stopwatch to 30 minutes ⏰, choose 6 questions and answer them ✍
  • Write the answers on the blog, make sure you write the number of the question.💻
  •  I would like you to tell me how long did it take for you to answer. 🕗
Answers will be supervised on the blog until 16.00. (DEADLINE). From that moment on , they won't be taken into account for assessment. An answer key will be posted at that time.

Now you are ready to relax...

1B LISTENING AND INFORMAL VOCABULARY

Hello My dear 1B students!

I have prepared some listening and vocabulary for you today. You are going to learn 10 new adjectives. Watch the video, play it and pause it , as many times as you need. Copy the adjectives and the example sentences for every adjective on your notebook ( make a list of them, they will be included in a text next week). Note if they have a particular use, if they are rude, affectionate, if they have more than 1 meaning, for example, or of they are used in a particular context. You do not have to show it to me unless I ask you to by email.
SAY ALL THE ADJECTIVES ALOUD AND PRACTICE YOUR PRONUNCIATION WHILE YOU WATCH THE VIDEO.

Once you got the 10 adjectives and the example sentences written , be ready to apply them in context.

TODAY'S ASSIGNMENT:
CHOOSE 5 of them and write an example sentence for every one of them. Try to find an equivalent of the adjective  in Spanish , take the context where it is applied into account before choosing the Spanish translation. Write you five sentences in the comment section👇. Please, write your name.
EXTRA CREDIT:
Have you heard any of them before? Where did you hear them? Which one is your favourite?

I hope you learn a lot from today's exercise. Be ready for more grammar practice, next week!

LISTENING AND VOCABULARY 1ºA

Hi Everyone!

This is the last task of the week. You have been working really hard and I have an easy task for you to do. We are going to watch a video using 11 British and American informal expressions that are worth to learn.

WATCH THE VIDEO 👇as many times as you like and write down the 11 expressions on  a list📝 or a table chart. Note its use ( affectionate/ humorous/ rude...), if it is British☔ or American🗽 or both , an equivalent in Spanish ( in case you can find one) and finally an example sentence.
This is  a listening exercise, the main objective is to understand the video and at the same time to learn new expressions. Do not send the chart to the blog or by email, just use it for the following exercise.
Do the quiz at the end of the video before posting an answer. Use your chart / list to help you.

TODAY'S ASSIGNMENT: ANSWER THE FOLLOWING COMPREHENSION QUESTIONS ABOUT THE VIDEO. CHOOSE 5 OF THEM AND POST A COMMENT.
1. Which of the expressions mentioned are "cockney"? What does cockney mean? Where is it use?
2. Where can you use " No way José"? Can you change it to any other name?
3. In which  particular context does he use Achilles Heel? Can you give me a sentence that is true for you.
4. What is the origin  of the expression " Elvis has left the building"?
5. Can you find an equivalent in your language to " Jack of all trades master of none"?
6. Can you think in a translation for " Joe Bloggs"? Can you put it in a sentence that express something that you really think?
7. What does the expression " Gordon Bennet" show?

FINAL QUESTION -OPINION
Have you heard of any of these expressions before? What do you think? Do you find them interesting? Which one is your favourite?

I hope that you learn a lot with this video and have a good week.🧡
