" The Prohibition" a bit of American History.
Hello Everyone!!!
Do you recognize this word ? Since I know you are doing some research on the setting of the film "Chicago" for your Final Task, I picked this short documentary on " The Prohibition", which not only you can use foryour project but also will count as a classwork grade. Hello everybody and welcome back!!
As you already know we are preparing something really exciting regarding the FINAL TASK for junior students. Check out this introduction of Shakespeare's MACBETH and post the answers for the following questions before Monday 21st. Enjoy the Tragedy!!!
SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS.
1) What two names do they use to refer to the play?
2) Where and when was it first performed?
3) Was Queen Elisabeth I alive by the time the play was performed? If not, who was ruling England at that time?
5) What historal source did Shakespeare use to get inspired before writing Macbeth?
6) What two sections of the theatre are mentioned? What kind of audience used these sections?
7) What are four themes that ,according to the video, appear in the play?

These are the questions that require a recond viewing and and more reflected answer.
8) The video mentions "AMBITION POWER AND VIOLENCE that spoke directly to the politics of Shakesperean time and continue to echo in our own". Try to explain briefly what that sentence means using your own words.
9) "In the early 17ths. England was politically precarious". Please, give a brief explanation. You can use terms from the text if needed.

Pay attention to her advice, grab a pen and a piece of paper, use headphones if you have background noise, set up subtitles when needed and watch. Remember to post a comment by Friday 19th. oct.
