  1. TEXT 2- Jose Riego Saavedra 2ºA

The new words I have learned with the text are: trope, damp and maintain

Since I am a huge fan of horror movies I have seen a lot of them and I can tell they usually has common tropes such as: the black man is always the first who dies in a slasher, if there are ghost or demons they are always waiting to scream at your face when you are relaxed, people in horror movies are usually more dumb as usual doing things like getting separeted or trying to kill an unstoppable monster with a knife, people in horror movies have superhuman resistance like, you can literally stab a teenage girl in her leg and she probably is going to be able to walk or even to run, among others.

  2. TEXT 2:

The words I learned today are: grocer, farmdrop and rid.

-As customers we can try to use less plastic in the products we buy or even with the products we use every day to rind. We can help businesses like grocer that provide plastic-free products because they are provided from farmsdrop and are not as seen in society, and they're better than department store supermarkets. We as customers can also change many things.

Today, I have learned these word: Creepy, Handy, Awake, Badly, Resourceful and hitchhiker.

-I like to watch horror movies, but always accompanied by someone. I am clear that almost all horror movies have the cliché, for example, terrifying dolls like Chucky, Anabelle ..., every time they die they reappear as if nothing had happened.
People possessed by the devil and who perform satanic rites to free them.

    1. Hi Mireia! Thanks for posting. I can see you understood the topic of the cliché very well.
Please try to use addition connectors like ( Moreover, In addition, as well). Your writing will gain cohesion.

  5. TEXT 1

    New vocabulary: Trope, Narrow.

Most of the popular horror films nowadays tend to: have characters with no personality (you could replace the main star and it wouldn’t change the film), abuse of jumpscares (they don’t even work suspense or mystery most of the time) and it’s always a superficial or primitive type of fear (a creepy monster is trying to slash them or stuff like that).
These movies are becoming more predictable as they keep being created, it’s only directors like Ari Aster, whose movies try to be deeper an original in this time.

    New words: frightened, themselves
    resourceful

Answering to the first question... I only like to watch scary movies if I'm with my friends, but when I'm alone in my house, I'm very scared. And with the cliches theme, I think which very scary films are very simial and happen the same things. With the new films, you can watch the scary coming. In my opinion, only the oldest scary films are the best, because was a impact in his time. The spectators want to be surprised and really scared!

  7. TEXT 1

I’m not really a fan of horror films but they’ve always awaken my curiosity. Also, one of the most famous cliches, one that now we all see it as a joke, is that first victic that, especially in 80’s or 90’s movies, was always a black person. This cliché has been parodied several times in a lot of movies, mostly in humoristic horror movies. This was a cliché that a lot of people related with racism and nowadays it has disappeared from serious horror movies.

Do you like horror films? Can you think of any more horror film clichés?
I’m not really into horror films but I actually enjoy them when I have company because we end up laughing the horror away. One of my favourite horror film clichés is the awfully big amounts of blood that sometimes looks unrealistic. It’s really funny and disgusting at the same time. I also love the cliché in which there’s a book in a foreign language or with symbols and suddenly one of the characters knows how to read it but, right before they can tell anyone what they have discovered, they die. Unexpected.

  9. TEXT 1:

New words: hiding, basements, empty, coverage, and resourceful.

I don't usually like them, I like other genres, but when I see any I see them accompanied, because I have more fun and I enjoy the movie more. I think that a terror movie cannot be seen alone. Another cliché that I have seen in several films is that the little boy in the family, who always has one, befriends the ghost, so he gets possessed. This happens in the famous movie called Poltergeist, where the child after being in contact with the ghost, is possessed and carried to another world.

These are the new words I have learned today: trope and damp.
I'm not that into horror movies but other genres like mystery. Moreover, I don't usually watch movies, I'm more of a series person.
Answering the second question, yes, indeed: one common thing is a person who is being chased, so he/she starts running through the forest but the person falls down; it's a desperate situation! Other one is when someone is hiding, maybe below his/her bed and that person is betrayed by his/her mobile phone or another sound.

New words: grocers, wastage and warehouses.
I don,t like horror fimls but if I have to see them it has to be accompanied by someone. These kinds of film usually have clichés like to be alone looking something or enter in the dark room. One of the most repeated cliché is when the dolls come to life. Other kinds of clichés will be murder scaring the protagonistwith a knife or the typical scene when everything is dark and appear something that scares everybody. In conclusión, these aren´t my favorites films, I prefer other genders.

    New vocabulary: Trope, Narrow, Damp.

I'm not really fan of horror films, basically beacuse it afraid me and I don't like too much this feeling.
However, I have seen somme horror movies but they are not scary at all like "The shigning" or "saw" but I didn't like it, specialy "The shigning" beacause it is condidered a cult film but it wasn't good as far,a I an concern.
That's why I don't usually see horror movies, my personal experience has not been good.

Do you like horror films? Can you think of any more horror film clichés? I love horror films, I think I could consider this genre my favourite above all the rest. I enjoy better psychological horror or a thriller than a film with lots of screamers since I like to feel internally the fear that the characters are going through, I think going for screamers it's an easy way of doing a horror film, but if you can make people be afraid of nothing, that's the point. It comes to my mind the type of film where usually a marginal character that is inside a group of friends is the actual mastermind behind all the things that are going on, and usually does it for revenge.
