Welcome back! Did you have the chance to relax during the Holidays? We are starting the week with a little phrasal verb (12 phrasal verbs) learning and practice! The vocabulary topic of the week is " JOBS" and "SUMMER JOB" Here is what you have to do:
MONDAY 13th. April
1. Watch the video by BBC Learning and write down the phrasal verbs on your notebook. Check the meaning on a dictionary ( Macmillan's for example). Notice that the same phrasal verb can be used in a different context with a different meaning.
2. Do all exercises ONLINE . There is a set of four self-correcting exercises types.
3. Now watch the video "HOW TO USE PHRASAL VERBS" by "Eat, Sleep, Dream" and `pay attention to the grammar use of phrasal verbs in general

TUESDAY 14th. April
1.Review what you learned yesterday , use the notes from your notebook, create flashcards...as you like.
2. Complete exercises 2 , 3 and 4 on phrasal verbs from the worksheet ( this is not online, just download the worksheet and complete the exercises with your computer or using a pen, it's up to you) Set the timer (or stopwatch for 30 minutes). Try not to pick on your notes, just try your memory and make the effort of remembering the verbs.

DeleteSólo hay que comentar en el blog lo que se indica en los puntos 1 y 2 del Wednesday April 15th. El resto del vocabulario es para ti, para la semana que viene que habrá un examen.
En cuanto a la hoja de ejercicios ( que está fechada para mañana) , tendrás que comentar el resultado en un post el miércoles, cuando dispongas del material para corregirlo. let me know if I made it clear for you. If not, I can email you with a different explanation.
En la prueba he sacado un 7,5, evaluando 0,25 cada punto.

I have never had a summer job but I would like to. Since next year I'm going to study outside I'm going to need money to pay my university, my new house, material... I'm interested in part-time jobs because even if I want to work, which I do, I also want to enjoy my vacations with my friends and my boyfriend. I would like to work in a small shop or something not too stressful. I think I might be good handle with people and I don't mind beeing paid humble wadges if I can be comfortable with my job.

Hi José! That would be wonderful. A job not too much stressful so you can relax with your friends and boyfriend and still get paid. It could be hard to find it but I wish you luck with that!
DeleteI've never had a summer job nor a weekend job but I would like to. I'm actually interested in any kind of job as long as I can fulfill the tasks without any difficulty but I love kids so babysitting or helping with homework would be my first choice. Also it's not a full time job so it would be easier.

Deleteif I have had summer and weekend work, it is something I like to do and it has also been an experience that helps you to be more independent and have your own savings for something future like studies, trips... I would like to work mostly on something I like, although I am willing to work anything as long as I have reasonable qualities.

DeleteI've never had a summer job, but I'd like to, because I can learn a lot of things and also make money. To start, I'd like to work walking dogs, because it's not a full-time job, then I'd have time for other things. I also wouldn't belong to a company either. I think this is a good job to start with.

DeleteHi José Riego, I think it can be a hard work, because you're responsible for an animal's life, and you have to be careful that it doesn't escape. I wouldn't want to walk too many dogs and make it a chaos.
DeleteI have never had a summer job, but i would like because it is good to have experience and to earn my own money. I´d like to work in some clothing store because I think that is a good work to starts in the labour market and it´s not a full-time job so I would enjoy my vacations or weekends.

I have never had a summer job. But i would like work sometimes in summer. ¿Why? I think that work in summer, is a good experience for watch functioning of work life. Futhermore, i will buy stuff that do you think you will need.

ReplyDeleteActually last summer I was willing to take up some typical summer job such as working at an ice cream shop, a café... but at the end I did not because I was told I was not old enough to work there. Now that I am older, this summer I would like to go for it and work in some establishment where I can interact with people, just to earn some money and gain work experience in order to have more looseness socially speaking.

ReplyDeleteIf I remember correctly no, i haven't. But maybe sometime I will. In the years coming by I'm pretty sure Im going to need it. Im not really sure which job though because i can't see myself working as a waiter or as an amusement park worker. What a would really like is making money with my art, with commisions. I dont see it as a job for all my life but maybe for just a summer it could be nice.

Once I work every weekend in May, and in the "Colombinas" of that same year. Consisted of working as a kitchen assistant, full-time job. But I didn't need to do a CV, because the boss is a friend of my parents and was not a company.

ReplyDeleteI would be interested in the job of the clerks of the clothing store in Holea or a small clothing store in my city. I am interested in part time jobs because even if I want to work, I also want to enjoy my vacation with my boyfriend.
Working in a place like that would be pretty cool, besides, you can see the current fashion or trends.

I think that you decision about work part time is perfect for a student. We need a take a break after of a school year.

DeleteYes, I usually work on vacation. My job is to set up a stall in a craft market in Islantilla in summer and the rest of the year to work in my accessories store in Huelva. Apart from serving the public, it also consists of making the products by hand.
