- LISTENING AND COMPOSITION 2ºB

Hello, dear 2B students!

How are you today? Ready for some composition day? Here is a little video by Tom from Eat, Sleep, Learn, giving us some advice about how to turn this negative situation into something positive.
This is what we are going to do:
1) FIRST, watch the video and answer (5) of the following comprehension questions TODAY Friday 27th.
The video lasts 11:30 minutes, make sure you can follow the video without being interrupted.
To do that read the questions first and be ready to take notes. You can stop the video or re-play it as often as you need. Do not use subtitles, if you can avoid them.

2) SECOND. Write a composition of about 120 words on the following topic. 


"HOW TO STUDY AT HOME DURING THE QUARANTINE PERIOD". Use the previous video as inspiration and try to give some advice and /or explain your own situation. Remember to use topic-related vocabulary, a variety of different grammar structures and appropriate linkers. Give your text a structure. Compositions will be sent to arantxaealo@gmail.com. The deadline for the composition is  Friday 3rd April.

    He gives the next 10 recommendations :
    Nº1 : Studying in short sustainable amounts. He tells us that it doesn't mean that if you study 3 hours for one day you don't need to study the next of the week. We need to study each day for a short period of time like 10, 20 but he really recomends the perfect amount of time it would be 30 min.
    Nº2 : NOISE. He tells you different ways to avoid noise of outside with instrumental playlists as Focus or if you don't like studying with music you could use Coffivity a page where you can listen differents sounds as water, birds singing...
    Nº3 : PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY.
    Nº4 : AFTER 4-5 MINUTES YOU NEED TO MOVE.
    Nº5 : CHECK YOUR POSTURE EVERY 3O MINUTES.

    If you need to avoid noise of the outside you could listen instrumental music which you could be found in youtube or spotify. If you don't like music you could use coffivity that helps you to concentrate of the outside's noise.

    It doesn't allow you to focus on stuying that's why some studies shows that if you have your phone with inside you it would be reduced by a 40%.

    Each 4-5 minutes we need to move due to it helps you to raice your brain. You could also going upstairs, walking around the room, doing to press ups, going to take a cup of tea...

    5. What is recommendation #5?
    The recommendation #5 is about checking our back's posture each 30 minutes.

    6. Why is number 6 especially advantageous?
    Because of it is a really fun activity. You have to use your washine machine or dish washer as a timer for our studies. We press the bottom of the dish washer or washine machine and we decide the time dishes or clothes are going to be washing, due to it is going to be the time we're going to study and when it ends you will end of studying too.

    7. What is a study buddy? 
    A study buddy is a person that helps you to study the subjects that are very complicated to you to learn.
    8. What is the meaning of losing momentum?
    It means you are wasting your time doing different activities instead of being studying and learning.
    9. What two Tv series does he recommend to learn English?

    In Youtube you could learn with ''learn english with papa teach me'' for example , Instagram, online language schools as Lingoda and websites as Lyricstraining.
