The first week is over!!! How are you organising yourselves? How do you feel like a little grammar today?
Here is a worksheet to practice REPORTED SPEECH, more specifically, REPORTED COMMANDS together with the ANSWER KEY. Please follow the instructions and get the work done by today, Monday 23rd.
THE EXERCISE HAS BEEN REMOVED
INSTRUCTIONS:
- You need to actually write the answers on a piece of paper.
- Take a minute to review what you wrote and then , using a different colour pen or pencil , correct your mistakes using the ANSWER KEY.
- The reporting verbs offered are going to be the content for a micro test that you are having tomorrow Tuesday 24th.
- Post a comment on the blog explaining the mistakes that you self-corrected.
REMEMBER THE DEADLINE FOR THIS EXERCISE IS TODAY.
I hope you are all following the recomendations and making the most of this situation. Remember to #stayathome and contribute to the community keeping your spirit up!!
The only mistake I had was in exercise 19 with the verb ''to be told''. The rest are well done except the fact that in the first few exercises instead of using me I used they/them, is that a mistake if the rest of the exercise is well done?

Hi Lola!
DeleteNot really. I wouldn't worry about that. Tomorrow's test is a multiple choice, you won't have that problem.

Arantxa
I've had two mistakes, in exercise 8 with the verb forbid and in exercise 19 with the verb tell.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteI have failed in:
4.Complete
5. me to
6. me not
7. me to, my
18. his
19. told
He fallado en:
ReplyDelete3. He puesto in Friday.
6. Puse Don´t.
8. forbidden
19. She demand me to tell en vede poner, demand me to be told.
Hi Carmelo,
Delete6. Beg ( somebody) to do something. Va seguido de infinitivo, así que no hay manera de encajar ahí un "don't".
Study hard for tomorrow, you can do it!

Arantxa
I have failed in:
ReplyDelete4.i have failed the whole sentence because it was difficult to me to understand it
7. Me to, my: it was a mistake
8. Forbade. I didn't know the correct form of the verb
19.to be told. I didn't know the correct form of the verb

DeleteHello Ana,
Delete4. significa "cállate o te castigo". la frase . constituye una amenaza , por eso el verbo es Threaten (amenazar). Ese verbo va seguido de to +INF.
The teacher threatened to punish me...
19. She demanded to be told the truth, significa: " ella exigió que se le dijera la verdad". se escribe "to be told" , que es una estructura pasiva porque la frase no ha mencionado ningún sujeto. Por eso cambiamos tell a pasiva.
Espero haberte resuelto la duda.
Un saludo,
Arantxa
I have had failures in:
ReplyDelete8. I have put "hadn't" instead of "us to" and I don't know why.
19. I have put "to tell" instead of "to be told" I don't know why the to be is.
I've had little bugs like "my" on 7, 11, and 18.
Hi Mireia!
DeleteForbid/ forbade/forbidden va seguido de "objeto", en este caso "us" y después de "to INF". La frase significa. " Madre nos prohibió (forbade us) llegar después de las 11 ( to come home after eleven).
regards,
Arantxa
i failed in:
ReplyDelete4. i put "threated" instead of " threatened"
6. i put "me dont to hit" instead of "me not to hit"
8. I put "forbided" instead of "forbade"
19. I put "to tell me the truth" instead of "to be told the truth."

Hi Paula!
DeleteReview your mistakes for tomorrow's test.

Hello, I am José Luis Perele from 2ºA
ReplyDeleteI have failed in:
4: I forgot to write "If I didn't keep quiet".
17 & 20: I wrote "to not" instead of "not to"
19: I wrote "She demanded him to tell her the truth" instead of "She demanded to be told the truth".
Hi Jose L. ,
DeleteNumber 19 is correct as you wrote it. It's just that you are creating a "him" that does not exist in the example sentence. Still, your sentence is correct.
Regards,
arantxa
I only failed in exercise number 19, with the use of the form to be told. Except from that the rest was okay, considering that in some exercises I used us instead of me.

Well done Joaquin!
DeleteI'm Jose Riego. I had problems with ''not to'' but once I saw my mistake now I can do it much better.
ReplyDeleteHi Jose!
DeleteI am happy you got it!
