THE LEGO HOUSE . Listening comprehension 2º Bach.
TIME FOR A SONG🏠💖!!
One of the best things about concerts is that we get to listen to the artist actually talking and sharing their thoughts with the audience, which always come in handy for the English teacher 😛, who is in the search for new authentic material that may interest their students.
So, here is the deal, listen carefully to the dialogues and comments during this concert. This is a listening activity for general comprehension and specific vocabulary acquisition, so the lyrics are just below in order to check the spelling of some of the expressions.
QUESTIONS
1.What comments do Taylor Swift make at the beginning regarding the audience's effort to attend the concert?
2. What conditional sentence does Taylor Swift use to present Ed Sheeran?
3. According to the song, are the two people involved in the story together? What Expressions give you the clue?
4. What words or expressions establish the paralellism between the Lego House and Love?
5. How many expressions using "out of + noun" could you identify? Could you explain the general meaning of it?
6. What final request does she have for the audience? Could you identify the exact words?
I'm gonna pick up the pieces
And build a Lego house
When things go wrong we can knock it down
When things go wrong we can knock it down
My three words have two meanings
There's one thing on my mind, it's all for you
There's one thing on my mind, it's all for you
And it's dark in a cold December, but I've got ya to keep me warm
And if you're broken I'll mend ya
And keep you sheltered from the storm that's raging on now
And if you're broken I'll mend ya
And keep you sheltered from the storm that's raging on now
I'm out of touch, I'm out of love
I'll pick you up when you're getting down
And out of all these things I've done I think I love you better now
I'll pick you up when you're getting down
And out of all these things I've done I think I love you better now
I'm out of sight, I'm out of mind
I'll do it all for you in time
And out of all these things I've done I think I love you better now
I'll do it all for you in time
And out of all these things I've done I think I love you better now
I'm gonna paint you by numbers and color you in
If things go right we can frame it, and put you on a wall
If things go right we can frame it, and put you on a wall
And it's so hard to say it but I've been here before
And I'll surrender up my heart and swap it for yours
And I'll surrender up my heart and swap it for yours
I'm out of touch, I'm out of love
I'll pick you up when you're getting down
And out of all these things I've done I think I love you better now
I'll pick you up when you're getting down
And out of all these things I've done I think I love you better now
I'm out of sight, I'm out of mind, I'll do it all for you in time
And out of all these things I've done I think I love you better now
And out of all these things I've done I think I love you better now
Don't hold me down
I think my braces are breaking and it's more than I can take
I think my braces are breaking and it's more than I can take
And if it's dark in a cold December, but I've got ya to keep me warm
And if you're broken I'll mend ya
And keep you sheltered from the storm that's raging on now
