JUNIORS ( GROUPS 1A AND 1B) LISTENING PRACTICE AND WRITING

Hi Everybody!
How was your long weekend? did you have the chance to go to the beach? Welcome to your first week in June! I have an interesting video for you about climate crisis and natural possibilities of fighting it.

CLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO AND THE EXERCISES. Before watching the video , do the task preparation to verify that you'll understand most of the vocabulary about climate change.


Pause the video as many times as you wish and take notes of vocabulary you need, re-play the difficult parts. Just work with the video material as you will and as you need.

TODAY'S ASSIGNMENT

Watch the video carefully, do TASK 1 AND TASK 2.☝ These tasks are important to practice your listening comprehension.

Answer to the following question in the blog. Write a short paragraph to answer the question ( use 6 to 8 lines). Create an original answer, show what you think, do not copy your classmates answers or the transcript from the video. Use a dictionary to check spelling, do not use a translator.

Question: Do you agree with Greta and George that natural climate solutions are needed? What can you do to make a difference?

2B ERROR CORRECTION HOMEWORK ( optional)

Hello 2B students!

Well, this is the last assignment for you before the marking period is over . I've decided to offer you an error correction exercise to review different common mistakes. There are 15 sentences to be read and corrected. Remember there are two mistakes in every example . Do not forget to rewrite those sentences ( the exercise does not consist of adding a word or crossing out an "s" on the existing sentence, but writing a correct full one.
As for correction standards and punctuation, every fully corrected sentence is marked 0.5, In case you just identify and correct one of the two mistakes , 0.25 will be marked.




LAST HOMEWORK

1. Send your error correction exercises  to arantxaealo@gmail.com
2. Leave a comment on the blog indicating what in your opinion is your Achilles Heel in English ( a grammar point, spelling, a particular type of exercise...) I am preparing further PEvAU practice to keep on offering you ESL materials  and I would appreciate this information.
DEADLINE: exercises will be accepted until 23:59 of tonight.

I will continue posting PEvAU exams , suggestions , practice and language tips on the blog. I would suggest that you "stay tuned".

Write 4 different sentences (created  by you) using the structures learned in this lesson. Make them true for you . Remember they have to be original, check spelling before writing.

2B LINKING WORDS PRACTICE- CONTRAST

Hi dear 2B students!

How are you today?  This is second-to-last exercise before the marking period is over. There will be an extra homework tomorrow just to make the assignments even with the other senior group 2A.  We are almost there!
I would like to review the following connectors/prepositions  of contrast ALTHOUGH, THOUGH, EVEN THOUGH, DESPITE AND IN SPITE OF. Please pay attention to the video explanation ( it's a 9.04 min.  length video), pause it as many times as you need to write down an example, to take notes...watch it as you will. Make sure you do not get interrupted and you can really focus on the explanation.
TODAY'S ASSIGNMENT.
Well, you do not have to do anything too stressful today. I would like you to write sentences as a comment of this post. Use a different connector each time. Make sure you pay attention to punctuation and sentence typology. Do your best.

Try to make the sentences true for you, use a variety of topics so that you can practice your vocab.
