STEP 1 .  USE YOUR BOOK " Get Set 1"  AND WATCH THE VIDEO .
Let's take your textbook and let's open it on page 59. ( UNIT 5 Save and Spend).  Read the text and answer exercise 2. Watch THIS VIDEO and try to do exercises 3 on this page.(There are 9 key verbs , check their meaning first, see if they are regular or irregular verbs)

STEP 2 . NEW VOCAB
Because we are dealing with vocabulary, see the vocabulary section on pages 64 and 65.  Go to the back of the book and check the vocabulary reference (the green pages) on page 130. Use a dictionary to check the new vocab and the definitions . My advice is that you take down all the new vocab and make sure you understand the meaning of all the idioms (refranes) about money. There will be a worksheet tomorrow for further practice.

STEP 3. ONLINE PRACTICE
TOPIC VOCAB. Do all the self-correcting exercises and write down new words.

STEP 4. WATCH THE VIDEO AGAIN AND ANSWER THE QUESTIONS BELOW.

PICK ONE  question and write a brief answer on the blog. You can answer one of your  classmates if you want, too.
1. What person do you agree more? Rebecca, why?
2. Do you usually save a lot of money? Explain
3. What do you usually spend your money on?
4. Do you usually lend money to people?

    Unit 5 SAVE AND SPEND
    (Text)
    2
1 Wins, because "earns" is for expression, example: " spend less money than you earn "

2 lent because " borrowed" in Spanish it means " pedir dinero" and it was the father who gave it to him

3 Pay because used to "pay" by card and "Cost" refers to what something costs

4 Owes, because means you owe money

5 the first and the second are correct because "Spend" in Spanish is "Gastar" and "Earn" in Spanish is "ganar" and are correct the first and the second

    3
1 [...] i try to SAVE some of it [...] (BRYAN)
    2 [...] I can usually BORROW a few pounds [...] (B)
3 [...]She LENDS me money too (B)
    4 but i always PAY her back [...] (B)
    5 [...] If i WON a sports car in a competition [...] (B)
6 [...] and those things COST money [...] (Rebecca)
    7 [...] But i Work hard to EARN my money [...] (R)
8 [...] I wouldn't have money to SPEND during the rest of the year[...]

    4. Do you usually lend money to people?
Yes, I do. I'm the kind of person that saves as much money as they can, so my parents usually ask me for money when they don’t have at hand. I also lend money to my brother from time to time.

  4. Hi Arantxa !! I’m Antonio Sánchez from 1ºA. I practiced with the activities (page 59) and the new vocabulary. I've picked the fourth question and this is my answer.

    4. Do you usually lend money to people?

I usually lend money to people, especially my friends. If my friend doesn't get the money to pay, I will lend him money. I don't take it when they return me the money and my friends don't like it.

    See you tomorrow! ❤️

  5. Hello Arantxa!!
    I'm Mónica Ferreiro.
-Do you think that money makes you happy?
No, because although have money to buy food, clothes and the basic needs and to have a good place to live is necessary, have the most expensive phone and car and have brand clothes is not the way to be happy. It's more important to have a family and friends that love you.

    6. Do you think that money makes you happy?

In my opinion, at certain times money can bring happiness because you could pay everything you want but if you do not have someone to share it with or with whom to do it, it is also true that it will not give you happiness furthermore if you do not know how to spend it and what you do buying bad things for your health you will not be able to enjoy it.

In conclusion: it can help you to be happier but only if you already have the necessary means to be happy before ... family, friends, intelligence to not spend on bad things

I can't delete the previous comment because it won't leave me, sorry

I think not at all. It´s true that money can buy things that make you happy, but what i actually think that hapiness is your friends and family. You can be happy without a expensive car or without a big house. Only can make it easier to get the hapiness.
