Welcome to the last lesson this week! Time to put into practice the PARTICIPLE CLAUSES while writing a text. The type of text you are going to create is called NARRATIVE.
TOPIC
Think about a time when you achieved something that you have been working towards, something you really wanted. Describe how you achieved your goal and how you felt afterwards (ca. 120 words). Give a title to your text.
👉CLICK HERE 👈and download the Writing Reference where you can find the paragraphs plan , a model of narrative a useful language section.
- What you need to do is to create a simple story (ca. 120 words length), do not make it too complicated.
- Use different past tenses Eg. past , simple, past continuous, past perfect...
- Use a variety of time expressions to organize your narrative.
- Use at least 5 participle clauses of any kind ( -ing. -ed, having + ed...) with any use ( cause, event order, time...) Eg. Knowing that I was late, I called my mum... or Having checked all my belongings, I headed to Gate 65A .
- Use the present simple to talk about current situations or present perfect if you want to say how those events influenced you today.
- Describe the atmosphere and the feelings.
USE YOUR BOOK. Go to lessons 150, 151, 152 and 153 ( lessons not pages) to review connectors if you want.
Send your composition to arantxaealo@gmail.com by Friday May 1st.
