1A JUNIORS PHRASAL VERBS PRACTICE

Hi everyone!
How are you today? Ready for some phrasal verbs practice ? Here it is a little review/ extension exercise. Let's concentrate on the phrasal verbs around this web.
LOOK + 11 different prepositions 
Check the meaning on an online dictionary.  and write down the meaning on your notebook.📓

TODAY'S ASSIGNMENT:
Choose 10 phrasal verbs from above☝ and write an explanatory sentence that is true for you in the blog. Use a valid sentence ( S+V+O+ adverbs) that really explains the verb. See some clues about how to use them below👇
Use your original sentences,  do not copy your partner's answers, I won't take copied sentences into account. Remember to post your sentences by today, and check my feedback. Sentences will be corrected at 15:30 h. ⌚

  1. Hi Arantxa!! I'm Antonio Sánchez from 1°A. I've a question. For today's activity, do we write 10 sentences with 10 different verbs + preposition or we write 10 sentences with the verb "LOOK" + 10 different prepositions?

      10 sentences with phrasal verbs with the verb LOOK. One different phrasal verb ( one with look after, another with look up to... etc) for every sentence.

      Thanks for posting. Remember the way of expressing purpose is TO+INF. So you'll have to say: The police looked around the school TO SOLVE the case.
      Make sure you use capital letter for proper names too.

      Thanks for your answers. I believe you want to say "dance teachers" and not "teachers dance" ( profesores de baile, no?). I do not quite understand #9. Could you explain, please?

    8-she look forward to the date at a japanese restaurant.

    - LOOK AHEAD: If I look ahead, I will study photography.
    - LOOK BACK: If I look back, I studied at my old school.
    - LOOK FOR: I looked for you, but you did not arrive.
    - LOOK FORWARD TO: I look foward to my summer holiday every year.
    - LOOK THROUGH: You can see the stars if you look through the telescope
    - LOOK ON: While my father taught me to swim, my mother looked on from the shore.
    - LOOK OUT: Look out, it just started raining.
    - LOOK ROUND: I can't find my sunglasses, I am looking around.
    - LOOK TO: When I saw an old woman with her shopping bags, I look to help her.

    I only saw the street if I look through the windows
    I looked on my brother because he was doing homework
    I always look for the information in internet
    I was scared when I looked back and I saw my brother in the ground
    I looked round my mobile but I didn´t find it
    I looked in the shop because it was on sale
    When I looked up, I saw the incredible Santiago´s cathedral

    - LOOK AHEAD: When I look ahead, I see my future self in a gallery art.
    - LOOK BACK: I look back to my uncle Arturo.
    - LOOK FOR: You can look my number in this book.
    - LOOK FORWARD TO: I look forward to another visit of my cousin.
    - LOOK THROUGH: She said, she can look through my exam.
    - LOOK ON: I usually look on the bright side of things.

      Could you check the "look back " sentence? We usually use it to think about en event in the past. Please , rephrase the sentence. Also look out! means ( cuidado). In your sentence you need to use look out of the window.

    3. LOOK AHEAD: If I look ahead the virús will disappear.
    4. LOOK BACK: If I look back, I was with my party friends.
    5. LOOK FOR: I'm looking for a way for my mother to let me get a piercing.
    6. LOOK FORWARD TO: I look foward to be with my friends soon.
    7. LOOK THROUGH: I look through the window the leaves of the trees move.
    8. LOOK ON: Yesterday I looked on how my dog played with my cousin's dog.

      sentence #1 does not explain that phrasal verb.Please check the meaning of " look up". Als consider that the right order in the sentence would be look (it) up.

    1. I've looked up the meaning of the phrasal verbs on an online dictionary.
    2. Yesterday I was looking for my headphones, but I couldn't find them.
    3. I'm looking forward to seeing my friends.
    4. When I look back, I feel nostalgic.
    5. We can't always be thinking about the past, we have to look ahead.
    6. My mum have to look in on my grandfather.
    7. Look out!! There's a car behind!
    8. We spent the morning looking round the city.
    9. We've looked through some catalogues to buy new furnitures for my room.
    10. I look to the teacher when I don't know how to do something.

    -Look to: three days ago I looked to my mother to tell her a secret.
    -Look up: when I wanna hang out with friends I usually look up my timetable to know if I have enough time.
    -Look ahead: I was thinking about looking ahead some plans to do before the virus.
    -Look for: I´m looking for a summer job to earn some money.
    -Look in: I will look in my dog, he´s sick so we carried him to the veterinary clinic.
    -Look back: all the things that have passed makes me look back about a lot of stuff I should have done.
    -Look through: I have to look though the oven every five minutes because i´m doing oats cookies.
    -Look after: I keep on maintaining social distance to look after myself.
    -Look out: I´m going to cook some boiled eggs, I might look out them if I dont want to explote them...again.

    -look to: I look to in my intuition many times.

    -look trough: before taking a exam I look trought it one more tome.

    -look in: yesterday I lookes in My Grandparents for a little while.

    - look for: I look for information before commenting about Something.

    - look out: I'm always look out for news about Covid-19.

    -look round: If I hear a noise, I usually look round what it could be.

    - look in: I look on how my brother plays the bass many times.

    -look forward: I look forward seeing my friend on Friday.

    - look ahead: I look ahead that out future after the pandemic will change.

    Look to: I looked to medical appointment so I was late.
    Look up: When I look up I always get dizzy.
    Look ahead: When he walks, always looks forward.
    Look back: I wouldn´t like to look back, there are acts that hurt.
    Look for: I can´t look for you, you´re very insecure.
    Look in: When I finish an exam, I always look in it.
    Look on: I look on the people around me closely.
    Look out: My mother look out to all my actions.
    Look round: My father looked round for his wallet and did not find it.
    Look through: Looking through the lenses is a little uncomfortable.

      Thanks for posting. Maybe you need to check #5 . I am not sure you got the meaning of "look for" right in that sentence.Also, the meaning of look up , as a phrasal verb is " to check a word in the dictionary".
